Michael Richard Guerin

Michael Richard Guerin passed away peacefully at home at the age of 84 on March 8, 2026.

Michael was born in Waukegan, IL. He was the son of Richard and Ann Krekis Guerin. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and went on to earn a Ph D in analytical chemistry from Iowa State University, Ames. He was employed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he became a Section Head in the Chemistry Division.

Michael always put family first. He and his wife enjoyed travel and days on the lake with family and they were longtime members of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oak Ridge. He was a supportive grandpa who never missed a baseball game, school play or band concert.

Michael is survived by his wife of 60 years, Katherine Ann Sibilski Guerin, his son Gregory and wife Meghan; sons Connor and Quinn. Daughter Andrea and husband Rick Wilson; their daughter Amber and husband Austin Green; son Spencer and wife Elizabeth; and daughter Faith Wilson. Great grandchildren Henry Green and Wyatt Wilson. Brother Joseph Patrick and wife Debra.

A graveside family gathering will be planned at a later date.
