Joy R. VonBlon, 82 of Elkhart, formerly of Goshen died Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Goshen Hospital.
She was born March 2, 1943 in Huntington, Indiana to Clarence L. and Mary (Darley) Rupley.
Surviving is a daughter, Allison M. VonBlon of Elkhart; a son, Todd (Kira) VonBlon of Noblesville; and grandchildren, Jackson VonBlon, Jamie VonBlon and Rachel Epperson.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands John VonBlon and Gary Dale; a son, James Ash; sister, Caroline Rupley; and a brother, Lawrence Rupley.
Mrs. VonBlon taught high school English and worked as a librarian for the Middlebury Community Schools prior to her retirement.
An EUB at heart, she currently was attending Bethel United Methodist Church in Elkhart. A family-oriented person, her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Those that knew Joy knew she lived up to her name.
A visitation will be held Monday, February 9, 2026 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m. funeral will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Pastor Keith McFarren will officiate.
Burial will follow in South Whitley, Indiana.
