Joy Lenore Winder

Joy Lenore Winder, age 68, of Highland, passed away on January 15, 2026.

She was born on March 4, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan. Joy met the love of her life, John Winder, in the early 1980s, and they remained devoted to one another ever since. Their enduring partnership was a constant source of love, strength, and companionship throughout her life.

Joy was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Milford, where she worked for over 40 years. She truly loved her work there and cherished the relationships she built through years of service, volunteering, and dedication to the Legion community. John was also a lifetime member of the American Legion, and together they shared a deep connection to the organization and its members. The Legion was more than a place of work for Joy-it was a second family.

Joy will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the beloved wife of John Winder; dear sister of Leon Bosman; and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her many dear friends at the American Legion, who held a special place in her heart.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
