Joy Ann-Marie Young, age 64, of Shelton, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of 39 years to William F. Young.
Joy was born in Derby, on March 3,1960, and is the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Tisi) D'Aiuto. Joy was a lifelong Shelton resident. She invested many years working in the health insurance field, followed by working alongside her husband at Bath Fitter. Joy had a gift of bringing people together with the magic of her cooking and ability to host family gatherings. She was an avid lover of soaking in the sunshine, either in her pool or at the beach, with a book in hand. Most of all, Joy was a devoted mother, a one of a kind Nana, and nothing brought her more bliss than being with her family.
She is the mother of Joshua William Young and his wife Lindsay, Jessica Lee Jacabacci and her husband Anthony, Jacob Tyler Young and his wife Carla, grandmother of Lyla and Miller Young; Lorenzo, Madelina and Viviana Jacabacci; and Ella Young. She is the sister of Joan Ciotti and Judy Taddei. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, located on 220 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking memorial contributions be made to Yale New Haven Hospital Office of Development, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508-9979.
