Joyce Addison

Joyce Addison, 84, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Joyce was born February 26, 1939, in Weatherford, Texas to Hugh Golden, Sr. and Ida (Hill) Golden. Joyce married her husband of 62+ years, Joel Addison, on November 5, 1960. Together they raised one son, Steven. Joyce loved their life and family, and she enjoyed serving her community and church. She remained active in Girls Auxiliary, ACteens, and teaching Sunday School at North Side Baptist Church and also served on the Crockett Elementary PTA Board. Throughout her life Joyce filled many positions of employment. She worked as a former banking secretary of Citizens National Bank, Vice President of Tarrant Savings and Loan, and as owner of Oakwood Academy Preschool in Hudson Oaks. Joyce was not one for sitting still, she set goals and met them. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh, Sr. and Ida Golden, and her siblings.

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, Joel Addison of Weatherford, Texas; son, Steven Joel Addison (Rhonda) of Weatherford, Texas; granddaughters, Brianna Joyce Addison (William Hill) and Erica Nicole Goetze (Taylor).

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086, officiated by Van Houser. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Oakland Cemetery for burial.

The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at the funeral chapel.
