James Ira Messimer

  Mr. James Ira Messimer, age 68, departed this life on January 31, 2026. He was born on December 28, 1957, in Weatherford, Texas, to Murry Messimer and Mary (Morrison) Messimer.

  James devoted his life to a successful career in the concrete industry, where his strong work ethic and reliability were well known. He was also a dedicated, do-it-all handyman at Solid Rock Camps in Eastland, Texas, always willing to lend his skills wherever they were needed. James was a faithful and valued member of Harmony Baptist Church in Eastland, where he found community and fellowship. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and playing golf - simple pleasures that brought him great happiness.

  James was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dawn Messimer; and his daughter in law, Michelle Messimer.

  James is lovingly remembered by his sons, Randall Messimer, Stephen Messimer and wife, Kristen Taylor, and Caleb Messimer; grandson, Ethan Messimer; granddaughter, Madison Messimer; his brother, Malcom Messimer and wife, Debbie; and sister, Sheila Duncan.

  To celebrate his life, a visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, located at 913 North Elm Street in Weatherford, Texas. The funeral service will occur the following day, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel, with burial to follow at East Greenwood Cemetery.

  James Messimer’s legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him.
