Jean L Messimer, 74, of Millerstown, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the Valley View Retirement Community in Belleville.

Born on June 10, 1951 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, she is a daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Seibert) Musser.

On June 23, 1972, she married her surviving husband, George H. Messimer, with whom she was blessed to share over 53 years of marriage before her passing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Michael G. Messimer and his wife Amy of Liverpool and Matthew T. Messimer and his companion Nicole Sarver of Millerstown; three grandchildren, Celia Messimer, Elyse Messimer, and Nolan Messimer; three sisters; one brother; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was a 1969 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School and a 1973 graduate of Shippensburg University. She was employed and retired in 2007 with over 30 years of service to the United States Postal Service where over 20 years was spent as the Postmaster for the Millerstown Post Office.

Mrs. Messimer was a member and attended the Pfoutz Valley United Methodist Church where, in earlier life, was very active. She also was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, a local card club, and loved playing cards, bingo, and reading.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Millerstown United Methodist Church, 23 N. High Street, Millerstown with the Rev. Fred Rudy officiating. Interment will be private.

A viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral services at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 12th at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jean's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
