D. JoAnn Bryner

D. JoAnn Bryner, 84, of McAlisterville, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 5, 2026. She was born January 3, 1942 in Lewistown, the daughter of the late Ethel S. Kelley Kirk and was the step daughter of the late Earl T. Kirk. On October 11, 1958, she married her late husband, John R. Bryner, with whom she was blessed to share almost 44 years of marriage before his passing on October 4, 2002. She is survived by two children, her daughter, Lori A. Spade and husband Leslie Jr. of Millerstown, and son, Richard M. Bryner and his wife Tonia of McAlisterville; four grandsons and their wives, Logan and Mandy Spade, Levin and Rachel Spade, Dustin and Jazelle Bryner, and Derek and Eva Bryner; nine great grandchildren, Levi, Lincoln, Linden, Sawyer, and Memphis Bryner, Ryker, Lexxi, Elizabeth, and Rebecca Spade; two sisters, Judy Reed, Nellie Berrier, and husband Stanley; two brothers, Earl E. and Harold M. Kirk, and a very special sister in law, Kathryn Bryner Felmlee of Doylesburg; plus many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kayla. JoAnn was a member of the Stony Run Mission Church and the Women of Gods Service Wings Group. She worked for Lyons Fashion, Aline Hatchery, The Old Filling Station and the Bread of Life Restaurants. JoAnn enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, reading her bible, doing crosswords, search words, and reading novels by many different authors and being with her friends as they gathered at the school house, however, most of all, the time she spent with her family was a great treasure. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc. 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with the Rev. Nicholas Smith officiating. Interment will follow in East Waterford Cemetery. A Viewing will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
