Joyce Allen Obituary

Visit the Schooler Funeral Home, Inc. - Amarillo website to view the full obituary.

Joyce Ann Allen, 89, entered the Gates of Heaven on March 11, 2026, ready to start her new life in eternity healed and whole. Born on November 22, 1936, to LD. and Edith Vaughn. Joyce grew up in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Lubbock High School.

She met and married Jerry Williamson, Sr and raised 3 sons before his passing in 1976.

Joyce dedicated a decade of her career to the American Quarter Horse Association, where she contributed her skills and talents. She later met and married LC (Jack) Allen in 1986, who passed away in 2018.

She was a longtime member of Arden Road Baptist Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Known for her kindness and warmth, Joyce touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her grandkids remember her as “a pinnacle of kindness”

In her leisure time, Joyce enjoyed sewing, immersing herself in English mysteries, and listening to music—especially gospel hymns that brought her great joy. Her beloved basset hound Beva was a cherished companion who brought additional comfort and happiness to her days.

Joyce is lovingly remembered by Gary and Michele Williamson of Temple, Texas; Jerry Williamson Jr. of Amarillo, Texas; Larry Williamson of Amarillo, Texas; Bill and Poyon Allen of Temecula, California; Larry and Pokye Allen of Madison, Alabama; as well as four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Arden Road Baptist Church on March 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the love she shared with so many.

May Joyce’s memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
