Vincent M. Eggers, 68, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 13, 2026.
Viewing will be from noon to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 17 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Bob Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Vincent was born on April 5, 1957 in Puerto Rico to Jean and Ralph Eggers. He was a proud son in a military family moving all over the United States with his father who served in the Air Force and family. They eventually arrived in Amarillo where they fell in love with the city and their people. He attended Alamo High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from West Texas State University.
His early career included working at Tarpley Music Company, working on cars and sailboats in his spare time. He then began his long tenured career in the wholesale flooring industry. He had been a sales associate with the Adleta Corporation for more than 37 years.
He was an exceptional employee winning many sales force honors over the years. He loved his job, his associates and his customers. He took care of his customers as if they were family.
Vincent was a man of excitement, riding motorcycles, dune buggies, and owning exotic cars. He often was known to own three or four cars and many motorcycles at any given time. The thrill of speed in a first-class vehicle was what he longed for. He loved tinkering in his 1,700 square foot man cave.
What made him happiest though was driving the grandchildren around on his riding lawnmower, letting them sit on his motorcycles, bubble blowing, driveway chalking and playing with Mr. Magnet Man in the man cave. Despite what many may think, G-Daddy could easily be conned into allowing fudgesicles for breakfast.
He also had an incredible band of best friends and brothers. He was known for his personal one-on-one relationships with friends and colleagues. He was exceptional at keeping in touch with them and being there anytime they needed him. His goal in life was to be known as a “good man!” Many have called him that and most respect his level of integrity. He prided himself in being honest, authentic and sincere.
He married Angela Day Knapp on July 6, 2013. He always told her that it was the best decision of his life and made him a better man. He always declared they were a “perfect fit.”
Vincent was preceded in death by his father Ralph Eggers, Jr., and mother Jean Eggers.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Eggers, of the home, her children Shelby Massey and her husband Joel of Granbury and Philip Knapp and his wife Ashley of Canadian. He is also survived by his four favorite knucklehead grandchildren, who called him G-Daddy, Jack and Ellis Massey and Carter and Benjamin Knapp.
Additionally, he is survived by half-siblings Arthur Eggers, Timothy Eggers, Stephan Eggers and Michelle Wrubleski, as well as six nieces and nephews.
