Joyce Laverne Baker, 89, died Monday, January 19, 2026 at her home.

She was born August 30, 1936, daughter of Bill and Effie Montgomery Bailey. Joyce was retired from General Electric. She was a graduate of Male High School and a member of Parkland Baptist Church and O.E.S. Fairdale Chapter.

She was a loving and kind parent and friend. She taught her children this by example. She enjoyed her senior citizen activities, playing cards and Yahtzee! She enjoyed working with youth and the children in Sunday School and Mission Groups.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Baker; and siblings, Tony Bailey, Franklin Bailey (Pat), Margie Terry (Bonnie) and Gloria Aubrey (June).

Survivors include her children, Margie Baker, Bill Baker (Judy), Rob Baker (Debbie) and Steve Baker (Rose); 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; a sister-in-law, Peggy Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral is 11am Friday, January 23, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with private burial. Visitation is 1-8pm Thursday and from 10 to 11am on Friday.

Memorial gifts: Gospel Lights Missions (on website gospellightsmissions.com), Gideons or Parkland Baptist Church.
