Ashtabula- Joyce M. Benetka, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Saybrook Landing with her daughters by her side. Joyce was born on May 8, 1933, in Ashtabula, Ohio to the parents of Harold and Lillian (nee Hammond) Lapham. She graduated from Ashtabula High School Class of 1951 and remained an area resident all her life. Joyce was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafting, especially needle point, baking, and reading. Joyce always made it a point each day to complete the puzzles in the Star Beacon. She often referred to herself and her daughters as the "Golden Girls" as they enjoyed shopping trips, dining out, and going to the casino together. Joyce will be dearly missed by her two daughters Rose (Terrance) Hamilton and Emily (James) Peoples; grandson, Mike (Tiffanie) Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Brittney Hamilton, Alyssa Chorba, and Elisabeth Delmonico; stepbrother, Ted (Nancy) Westover; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis (Nick) Manyo; and a granddaughter, Lisa Brenkus. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00PM at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3140 E Center St, Conneaut, OH 44030 The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Saybrook Landing and Bella Care Hospice for the wonderful and loving care they extended to Joyce.
