Joyce Benzi Obituary
Joyce Elizabeth Benzi (Swanberg), 81, a longtime resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, in Indian Land, South Carolina. Born on January 16, 1944, in New Haven, Connecticut, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.
Joyce dedicated more than 20 years of her career to Pinchbeck's Rose Farm, where she worked in the sales office and packing room. Her warm personality and dedication made her a valued member of the team. Beyond her professional life, Joyce enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards, decorating, and crafting-always bringing joy to those around her. She cherished coffee and teatime with friends, where conversations were filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Joyce was a beloved mother to John R. Benzi Jr. (Cindy) of Clinton, CT; Michael D. Benzi (Katherine) of Natick, MA; William A. Benzi (Karen) of East Haven, CT; and Christine M. Longo (Paul) of Indian Land, SC. She was a cherished grandmother to Emily Benzi; Brandon Longo (Emily); Austin Longo (Kaitlyn); Bailey Longo; Christopher Benzi; Fiona Benzi; Grace Benzi; and Caroline Benzi. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren: Taryn Longo, John Paul Longo, Ruby Longo, and Silas Longo. Joyce also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John R. Benzi Sr.; her parents, Mary Mirakian and Gilbert Swanberg; her sister Patricia Miller; and her brothers David Swanberg and Richard Swanberg.
Joyce's legacy is one of warmth, humor, love, and generosity-qualities that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and serve as a reminder of a life well lived.

My earliest memory of my Aunt Joyce was when she was pregnant with Christine. Lots of warm childhood traditions were made at the Benzi house, especially Christmas. Rest in peace.
