Joyce Mae Biddle

Joyce Mae Biddle, age 86, of New Castle, passed away on December 13, 2025, at her residence in Union Township.

Born May 5, 1939, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Edward L. Allen and Jean Kennedy Allen Blews, both of whom preceded her in death.

A 1957 graduate of Union High School, Joyce attended Indiana State Teachers College and furthered her education at Youngstown State University, graduating in 1961. She devoted 25 years to teaching before working as a telecommunications relay assistant with AT&T in New Castle for 10 years, retiring thereafter.

Joyce was a member of Eastern Star #105 and Wimodausis. She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, playing cards, and traveling, and was a lifelong Presbyterian.

She is survived by her four daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Adams of Powhatan, VA, Karen (Robert) Ryan of Stoneboro, PA, Carole (Jerry) DiAlesandro of Pulaski, PA, and Michelle (Chris) Rowland of Philadelphia; one son, Harry R. (Sandra) Biddle, Jr. of Austintown, OH; one sister, Suzanne Perry of New Castle; two brothers, Edward (Josephine) Allen of New Castle, PA, and Bruce Allen of Sewickley, PA; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Blews, and stepsister, Mabel Jean Young.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 22, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Karen Heasley officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
