Joyce Elaine Boyer, 83, of
Denver, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at The Gardens at Stevens.
Joyce was born on April 16, 1942 in West Cocalico Township, PA to the late Luther and Evelyn (Gerhart) Hauck. She married Donald H. Boyer on October 19, 1963, celebrating 61 years of marriage. Together they have three beloved sons, Scott, Todd and Chris who have given her the greatest joys of her life, her seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
A loving family woman, Joyce deeply cherished her time with her loved ones and always placed family at the center of her life. She treasured holiday gatherings, family picnics, annual beach vacations and camping trips, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Joyce loved nothing more than to see her grandchildren's smiling faces at Christmas, Easter egg hunts in her backyard, birthday celebrations, various sporting events and cherished family vacation time in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Her grandchildren will always remember her famous buttered noodles, delicious home cooked meals and spending time at their home, a place where the cousins always found laughter, fun and created new and lasting memories. Joyce also deeply valued time with her extended family, especially her nieces and nephews, whose company she adored. Joyce often stated that family was the most important thing to her. Her kind and gentle spirit, selfless nature of always putting others first, and unwavering devotion to others leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on through her children, grandchildren and the special people she called friends and family.
Dedicated throughout her life to serving both her Church and community, Joyce was a faithful member of Swamp Christian Fellowship Church and a committed member of the choir. She loved to sing, and her joyful spirit was evident in worship. In her final days just before passing she could still recall every word of every hymn. As part of her commitment to service through her Church, she was an active member of the Willing Workers, a group devoted to supporting the community and helping those in need. She especially loved spending time with her church friends, gathering at Easter to make their famous homemade candy, a tradition she cherished with friends that she considered as close as family.
Joyce gave her time generously to her community as a member of the Denver Lioness Club and a volunteer at the Denver Fair. She always embraced the fellowship of coming together with others to nurture and support the local community. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed crafting handmade cards for friends and family, and she took joy in collecting angels and miniature piano music boxes, both symbolic of her love and appreciation of faith and music.
Joyce was a dedicated and hardworking woman who held a variety of roles throughout her life, both in local businesses and in service to her Church and community. Throughout the years, Joyce worked as a seamstress in the garment industry to support her family while raising her three sons. Later, she worked at the local farmer's market, where she enjoyed meeting new people and forming lasting friendships.
Joyce is survived by her three sons, Scott, husband of Kathie Rigante of Pennington, NJ, Todd of Lititz, PA and Kimberly (Brendle) Boyer of Denver mother of their children; Chris, husband of Lissette Mendez-Boyer of Tarrytown, NY; seven grandchildren, Jack, Michael, Zachary, Marissa, wife of Josh Epler, Matthew, Thomas Joseph (TJ), and Owen, along with two great-grandsons, Josiah and Jeremiah Epler; two siblings, James, husband of Catherine (Kitty) Hauck of Reinholds, Nancy, widow of Sam Heiser of Reinholds; and her sister-in-law, Joanne Hauck of Myerstown, widow of Gerald Hauck. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Gerald Hauck.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the family members who tirelessly supported Joyce on a daily basis and the administration and staff of The Gardens at Stevens for the exceptional care, compassion, and dedication shown to Joyce during her time there.
Joyce's life was defined by her deep faith, service to others and always leading with kindness. Her ever present warm smile, quiet strength, gentle nature, patience, and love were always reflected in her beautiful blue eyes. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
