Joyce Burkinshaw

Joyce Burkinshaw, age 84, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in Nephi, Utah.

Joyce was born on May 19, 1941, to Henrey Lewis Benner and Helen Rebecca Stam. She was raised with strong values, a work ethic, and a love of family that remained central throughout her life.

In 1965, she married the love of her life, Larry Burkinshaw. Larry preceded her in death, along with their daughters Cathy Rasmussen and Vicki Pape, her beloved parents, and her son, Shaun Burkinshaw, who passed away the following day on February 9, 2026. While the closeness of their passing has brought tender sorrow to those who love them, it also brings comfort to know they were reunited so quickly.

Joyce is survived by Ron (Barbara) Burkinshaw; her son-in-law, Neil Pape; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

A faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joyce lived her testimony daily. She will be remembered as a lovely and feisty woman with a warm heart and strong spirit. She had a special fondness for Elvis Presley and Tweety Bird, which brought a touch of fun and personality to her life. Those who knew her will remember her generosity, her determination, and the love she had for her family.

Joyce worked for the State of Utah as an accountant, where she was respected for her diligence and reliability. Even in retirement, she chose to remain active, working at the Nephi Market Bakery, where she enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 North 400 East, Nephi, Utah.

The family expresses gratitude for the love and support shown during this time. Joyce’s legacy of faith, strength, and devotion will continue through the generations she so dearly loved.
