Shaun Larry Burkinshaw

Shaun Larry Burkinshaw, age 58, returned to his Heavenly Father on February 10, 2026.

Shaun was born on April 29, 1967, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Larry and Joyce Burkinshaw. He was raised with a strong sense of determination and independence that would shape his life.

Shaun served honorably in law enforcement for many years, first as an officer and later as a detective with the Alpine Police Department. He later spent two years serving as a state trooper in Alaska. After his time in law enforcement, he drove for FedEx until illness made it no longer possible for him to continue working.

In his younger years, Shaun had a passion for bodybuilding and enthusiastically enjoyed the rock band KISS, and the stock market. Those who knew Shaun recognized his strength, focus, and individuality.

Shaun is survived by his older brother, Ron (Barbara) Burkinshaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Joyce Burkinshaw; his sisters, Cathy Rasmussen and Vicki Pape. Though his passing came just after his mother’s, his family finds comfort in the thought of their reunion.

A joint graveside service for Shaun and his mother, Joyce, will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 North 400 East, Nephi, Utah.
