Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service - Manchester Avenue Chapel - Wabash on Aug. 9, 2025.
Joyce M. Coath, 79, of Somerset, Indiana, died at 12:23 am, Friday, August 8, 2025, at Timbercrest Healthcare Center in North Manchester. She was born on April 14, 1946, in Browning Lambert Mountain, West Virginia, to George and Leona (Browning) Mullins.

Joyce was a homemaker and raised three wonderful children. She married Thomas Coath on February 8, 1961 in West Hamlin, West Virginia; he died December 31, 2022. Joyce was a member of the Wabash Elks Lodge and the Van Buren V.F.W. Post 368. She was a coffee lover and enjoyed reading and playing cards. Joyce was an electronic wizard who could hook up anything, and was always on top of her yard work, known by her neighbors as the crazy stick lady. She had a heart of gold, and was always willing to help anyone out. Joyce always felt the need to care for the neighborhood animals and feed even the wildlife. She was also a huge fan of classic country music, and had it on in her room 24/7.

She is survived by three children; Deborah (Brian) Keffaber of Wabash, Thomas (Rebecca) Coath of LaFontaine, Indiana, and Steven (Aundrea) Coath of Indianapolis, Indiana, four grandchildren; Jessica Keffaber of Wabash, Samantha Keffaber of Washington D.C., Christopher Coath of Kokomo, Indiana, and Nolan Coath of Indianapolis, and her brother Ronnie (Judy) Mullins of Branchland, West Virginia. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Wendell Mullins and Elmer Mullins, and sister, Nora Ann Porter.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Lore Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Timbercrest Healthcare, Crestwood, and Heart to Heart Hospice for all the wonderful care they took for Joyce.
