Joyce Marie Colbert

Joyce Marie Colbert, 75, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
She was born August 5, 1949 in St. Joseph to Theodore and Clara (Porter) Jackson. Joyce grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Central High School.
Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Howard E. Colbert I, on September 29, 1967. They shared 50 years of marriage before his passing on February 7, 2017.
She worked for American Family as an underwriter, then embarked on a career in real estate with Tiger Realtors.
Joyce was a faithful servant of the Lord and strengthened her faith as a longtime member of Holsey Chapel ICM.
In her younger years, Joyce enjoyed bowling, playing softball and coaching girls softball. Later, she found joy in tending to her flower garden.
Family was most important to her, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; granddaughter, Breanna Colbert; and brother Theodore Jackson, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Cassonya R. Colbert, Tamyra L. Colbert, Ptolemy L. Colbert, and Howard E. Colbert II; grandchildren, Tyren, Rashad, De'Yondre, Tahji, Ryan, Caimon, McKenly, Liam, Jaxon, Kortlyn, and Niko; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronald Jackson, Dee Anna Jackson, Ramona Jackson, Curtis Jackson, and Keith Whitley; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 25, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
