Joyce Richardson Corcione, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10th, 2023, at the age of 83.
Joyce was born on September 27th, 1940, in Fortson, Georgia, to J.O. and Mary Richardson. She attended Mountain Hill Elementary and graduated from Harris County High School in 1958.
Joyce grew up in Harris County, Georgia where her father was a local merchant who ran Richardson's Store. She had a successful career working for RC Cola and Cott Beverages. Joyce had a love for fashion and would never leave home without her lipstick. She was a long time member of Antioch Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. While being a breast cancer survivor, in her final years, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, coloring, reading, watching her Soap Operas, and keeping up with Nascar with her best friend, Connie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother Royce Richardson, brothers, John and Billy Richardson, and her beloved son Jonathan Corcione.
She is survived by her brother, Gene Richardson (Gypsie), sister-in-laws Brenda and Glenda Richardson, son Michael Corcione, daughter Jennifer Corcione, daughter-in-law Laura Corcione, grandchildren Ashley Brookshire (Blake), Michael Corcione, Jagger Corcione, Iris Otersen (Austin) and Ezra Otersen, great-grandchildren Lennon Corcione and Rayleigh and Ava Brookshire, many nieces and nephews, as well as her faithful cat Sadie.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 18th, 2023, at Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton, Georgia. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.
