2022
Joyce Earlene Corwin went home to her Heavenly Father on June 19, 2022. She suffered with Alzheimer's over the past seven years.
She was born on March 26, 1935, to Earl and Helen Farmer in Sodus.
She graduated from Benton Harbor High School.
On May 8, 1954, she married Carl Alton Corwin when he was serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky. They moved back to Niles and raised four children: Carlyn Morris, David (Becky) Corwin, Nancy (Scott) Bonner and Jerald Corwin, all from Niles.
Joyce is also survived by eight grandchildren: Richard Morris, III, Bradley Morris, Melissa (Kevin) Ellerbrook, Matthew Richardson, Andrew (Brennen) Bonner, Jason Bonner, Aerial (Rusty) Stout, and Nathan (Kaylin) Corwin; fourteen great-grandchildren: Desiree, Kayden, Carl, Paisley, Violet, Delaney, Orion, Fletcher, Kevin, Teagan, Onyx, Orin, Hudson, Laim; one great-great-granddaughter, Kyleigh; and her sister, Janet (Bob) Hahn of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Alton Corwin; and three sisters: Wilma Lange, Marilyn Houseworth and Carol Ann Farmer.
Joyce retired from Acatel Lucent in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, after 25 years. She volunteered at Lakeland Hospital for many years. She loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and great-great-grandchild very much. Joyce enjoyed sewing, golfing, traveling and polka dancing. She made many good friends over her lifetime that she treasured.
Joyce lived at Brookdale Assisted Living for three years, then was placed in Brentwood in Niles in the Memory Care. We can't say enough about the care she received in both facilities. She was loved by the aids and nurses at Brentwood that made the family feel at rest about her care. Mom will truly be missed by her family and friends. She will now be with her heavenly father for eternity!
