Tammy Corwin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Skradski Family Funeral Home - Escanaba on Jan. 20, 2026.
Tammy J.K. Corwin, of Marinette, Wisconsin, went peacefully to be with the Lord on December 18, 2025. A devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and faithful friend, Tammy's gentle spirit and unwavering love touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Tammy was born on September 9, 1961, in Dearborn, Michigan, to Stanley Thorsen and Marie Ottlinger. She graduated from Tritownship High School in 1979, carrying with her a strong work ethic and a heart for caring for others that would guide her throughout her life.

She is survived by her brothers, Todd Thorsen and Terry Thorsen, and her sister, Theresa Peltier. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tim Thorsen.

On September 15, 1979, Tammy married the love of her life, Dewayne Arthur Corwin, beginning a marriage rooted in faith, family, and devotion. Together they raised three children: their son, Jessie Allan Corwin (born September 15, 1982); their daughter, Janelle Marie Corwin (born October 25, 1985); and their daughter, Jamie Leeann Corwin (born April 25, 1990). Tammy's greatest joy came in becoming a grandmother. She was blessed with three grandchildren whom she adored: Kodi Marie Deehr (born April 9, 2009), Isaiah Wade Spohn (born March 19, 2010), and Jaxson Terry Deehr (born December 10, 2013). Her love for them was endless, and her pride in them was evident in every smile and story she shared.

Tammy dedicated much of her working life to caring for others. She served for many years as a nursing aide at the Lutheran Home in Marinette, Wisconsin, where her compassion and kindness left a lasting impact on residents and coworkers alike. She also worked as a cook at Perkins in Menominee, Michigan, where her warmth and talent in the kitchen were equally appreciated. At home, Tammy was known as an exceptional cook, lovingly preparing meals that brought her family together. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading, and pouring her time and heart into caring for her family. Tammy was a faithful member of Menominee Church of God. She had a deep passion for God's Word, spending countless hours studying the Bible and completing devotionals. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided her actions daily. Those who knew Tammy will remember her as a giver - someone whose love, generosity, and kindness flowed naturally from her steadfast faith in Jesus.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms... I am going there to prepare a place for you." - J o h n 1 4 : 1 - 3

Though Tammy's physical presence is no longer with us, her love, faith, and memories will live on in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Tammy's life will be held on January 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at House of Hope - God's House, located at 3017 15th Street, Menominee, Michigan. The family warmly invites all who knew and loved Tammy to attend and share their favorite memories as we honor a life beautifully lived.
