Joyce Deaver Obituary
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of William (Jim) and Mozelle Wooten Burke. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Allen and Roger Deaver; sister, Jean Burke Stringfellow and her husband Tommy; brother, Tommy Burke; and grandson, Christopher Deaver.
Joyce always welcomed people into her home and she enjoyed being a foster grandparent. She also loved reading and playing bingo.
Joyce was blessed with a very large family. She is survived by two daughters, Cathy West and Jeanetta Cornwell; six sons, Derwin Deaver, Randy (Kay) Deaver, Edwin Deaver, Kevin (Priscilla) Deaver, Ricky (Christy) Deaver, and Tim (Karen) Deaver; four siblings, Margaret (Joey) Ferguson, Eva Mae (Joe Bob) Kirby, Paul (Glenda) Burke, and Jimmy (Janet) Burke; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and longtime special friend, Shirley Cagle.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The care of Mrs. Deaver has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
