Joyce was born September 11, 1932, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of James B. and Emy M. (Petersen) Coleman. She married Donald J. DeMaranville on January 10, 1947, in Oskaloosa, KS. They spent many years building DeMaranville Excavating and their family of five daughters. Joyce was also gifted tailor, seamstress and quilter. She retired from Campbells Clothing store in Lawrence, KS. She dedicated her life to her family and the Linwood United Methodist Church. She was beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend to all she knew.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Don and oldest daughter Cynthia "Cindy" DeMaranville.
Survivors include four daughters: Sandra "Sandy" DeMaranville (Jerry Williams) Linwood, KS; Cathleen "Cathy" (Thomas) Pitts, Lawrence, KS; Jeanne (Lee) Rieke, Kennesaw, GA; Donna (Thomas) Kelly, Bonner Springs, KS; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be announced in a few months.
