Joyce was born July 31, 1940 in Butler, MN, the daughter of Austin and Mary (Jacques) Vandenberghe. Joyce was united in marriage to Ambrose “Ambie” Doll on September 24, 1957 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Butler. They were blessed with six children.
“Grandma Duck” enjoyed her vegetable garden and being able to share her canning with others. She enjoyed playing cards, socializing, baking, dancing (she led), raising her kids, getting her hair done once a week, and keeping her house clean and in order. Joyce will be remembered for being very organized; she never misplaced or lost a thing. Christmas was always a very special time of year and Joyce loved giving gifts.
Surviving Joyce are her six children: Denice (Mark) Kunze, Becky (Paul) Winkels, Brenda (Ed) Martodam, Carol (Dan) Schmitz, David Doll, and Mary (Curt) Erickson; her grandchildren: Stephanie, Chris, Rob, Nicole, Jon, Kelly, Amy, Joe, Heidi, Charlie, Isaac, Daniel, Ayanna, Brady, Austin, and Analea; 34 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Robert Vandenberghe, Donna (John) Kunza, and Allen (Sheryl) Vandenberghe; and her brother-in-law Jerry Teig.
Preceding Joyce in death were her parents; her husband Ambrose; her precious grandson Matthew Martodam; her brother Lawerence Vandenberghe; and her sisters Lorraine Honer, Dorothy Teig, and Leona Lorentz.
Joyce’s family extends a heartfelt thank-you to Perham Living for their exceptional and compassionate care shown to Joyce over the years.
