GRANITEVILLE, SC - Joyce Elaine Doolittle, born on July 16, 1966, in Aiken, SC, passed away on November 29, 2025. Joyce dedicated over 28 years of her career to the Aiken County Detention Center, where she made a lasting impact through her hard work and commitment.
Joyce was a warm and loving individual who cherished her family deeply. She was married to her husband, Jimmie Franklin Doolittle, Jr., for 40 wonderful years. Together, they shared a beautiful life, and their bond was a testament to their love and devotion.
As a mother, Joyce took great pride in her son, Jimmie Franklin (Natalia Aleksanov) Doolittle III, who resides in Graniteville, SC. Joyce was also a treasured grandmother to her grandchildren, Raynie Eliza and Brianna Renee Doolittle, whom she adored. She is survived by her father, Jimmie (Cindy) Griffin, her sister, Evelyn Lucas (Sam) Wright, and her beloved grandmother, Evelyn America Hall. Additionally, she is survived by her husband's parents, Jimmie (Ruth Arline) Doolittle, Sr.
Joyce loved tending her garden, finding joy and solace in nurturing life around her. She found pleasure in reading from an early age, which often provided her with a great escape and a source of inspiration. Most importantly, Joyce had a profound love for the Lord that guided her throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her mother, Brenda Joyce Hall Wright and two sisters, Angela Marie and Melony Dianne Griffin.
Visitation for Joyce will be held on December 3, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Shellhouse Funeral Home located at 924 Hayne Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801. A funeral service will take place the following day, December 4, 2025, at 3:00 PM, also at Shellhouse Funeral Home. Following the service, Joyce will be laid to rest at Holsenback Family Cemetery, located at 149 W Frontage Rd, Aiken, SC 29805, at 4:00 PM. Pallbearers will be James Ennis, James Byrne, Lawrence Muns, Sam Wright, Bobby Wright and Connor McKinney.
Joyce Elaine Doolittle will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
