Rose Simplicity Cremation and Funeral Center, Inc.Joyce “Darlene” Earl, 79, of New Wilmington passed away at Grove Manor in Grove City on July 2, 2025. Darlene was born to George and Margaret Seila on May 4, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY. Darlene attended New Castle School of Business before working at various clerical positions with the IRS and the State of Pennsylvania before retiring from the Mercer County Assistance Office in Sharon, PA. Darlene married her sweetheart, Lloyd Earl, who preceded her in death in 1976. Dolly, as family and close friends called her, was very involved in the United Methodist Church, serving as secretary and volunteered, for over 50 years. Due to the loss of Lloyd at such a young age, Darlene formed a tight bond with their daughter, Peggy, and was always by her side if she could be. She was a band parent and was present at all of Peggy's activities. Darlene was always an animal lover, taking in any cat that would come by. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time at her camp in the mountains with them. Darlene was an avid reader and enjoyed bingo and playing games at home with her mother.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Peggy Earl, and her sister, Frances Morrison. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her in-laws, Shirley and Walter Earl.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose Simplicity Cremation and Funeral Center, Inc. 200 S Erie St. Mercer, PA 16137. A Memorial Service for Darlene will be held at her church at a later date.
