Shirley Filer Obituary
Shirley E. Filer, age 65 of Mercer, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025 at AHN Grove City.
She was born in New Castle, PA on June 8, 1960, to the late Earl Edward and Barbara Gail “Gilliland” Filer.
She graduated from Mercer Area High School in the class of 1979.
Shirley owned her own restaurant, and was always waitressing and bartending.
She enjoyed going to camp with her fiancé, Jim Jones, it was their home away from home. She enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking up nice meals for those around her. She was always willing to give a helping hand to those who needed it.
Shirley is survived by her fiancé Jim Jones; three siblings: Richard (Darlene) Filer, Mark “Dink” (Missy) Filer, Mary (Dana) Scheppelmann, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose Simplicity Cremation & Funeral Center, Inc., 200 S. Erie Street, Mercer, PA 16137. Per Shirley's wishes there will no services.
