Joyce Elaine Embry, age 80, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025.
She was born on November 25, 1944, in Hyden, Kentucky, to the late Arthur and Icey (Hoskins) Morgan. Joyce was a graduate of Leslie County High School and went on to earn an Associate's Degree as a Medical Office Assistant. She dedicated many years to her work as a medical assistant, where her compassion and care left a lasting impact.
On July 12, 1972, Joyce married the love of her life, Larry Thomas Embry. Together, they built a loving home in Palmyra, where they shared over five decades of marriage.
Joyce had a heart for creativity and nurturing. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and cooking. Her home was always filled with warmth, love, and the comforting presence of her beloved dog and faithful companion, Myra. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; one sister; and her son, David Williams.
Joyce is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Thomas Embry; her children: Terri (Mitch) Gaskey, Shirley Williams, and Paul Embry; her grandchildren: Daniel Rumbley, Nicole (Danny) Davis, and Eric Gaskey; her great-grandchildren: Lillian Culberth and Jack Rumbley; and three loving sisters.
