Rebecca Joyce Dodd Evans, 87, of Ossipee, entered into heaven on Thursday, July 18, 2024 surrounded by her family at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice. Joyce was born on September 17, 1936 to the late Reva Jones Michael and the late Charlie Dodd.
Joyce worked faithfully at Burlington Industries for 47 years and was a member of Johnson Baptist Church in McLeansville. Joyce enjoyed serving her community through her personal encouraging cards. Joyce also loved to cook and spent most of her life in the kitchen, her classic desserts were enjoyed by many including her chocolate pies and her peanut butter golf balls. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and friend that dedicated her life to selflessness.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her two children, Barbara E. Jones and Gene (Jill ) Evans; four grandchildren, Zoe Evans, Jory Evans, Marty Schoolfield and Misty Trent; and two great granddaughters, Alexis Trent and Haley Trent. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Claude Winfred Dodd.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 22, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Mike Nixon. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 PM Monday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Barbara
The family would like to thank Compass Rebab of Mebane for their dedicated care of Joyce for the last two years.
