Joyce L. Freeman

Joyce L. Freeman, age 82, of Millsboro, DE formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Accent Care Hospice in Wilmington, DE.
Joyce was born in Wilmington, DE on May 23, 1942 daughter of the late Joseph C. Pritchard and the late Catherine H. (Mulholland) Pritchard. She was a graduate of Unionville High School Class of 1960 in Kennett Square, PA. Joyce owned and operated her own cleaning business in the Wilmington area prior to her retirement.
Joyce spent most of her life in Wilmington, DE before moving in with her son, Joseph and his partner Walter "Tom" Decyk. They provided a loving and caring environment for Joyce for the last ten years. Joyce enjoyed traveling, listening to country music and completing her puzzle books; however, her favorite pastime was going to the local casinos. Spending time with her family and friends was a constant part of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph C. Pritchard and daughter-in-law, Gloria J. Freeman. Joyce is survived by her three children, Albert L. Freeman, Joseph K. Freeman and his partner, Walter "Tom" Decyk and Anita J. (Freeman) Deputy and her partner Christopher Geiger; three grandchildren, Thomas Freeman and his wife, Melissa, Robert A. Deputy, Jr. and Caleb Geiger and a great grandson, Gavin. Joyce is also survived by her four siblings, Joan Brownell, Ruth McEaney, Charles E. Pritchard and Richard A. Pritchard; her lifelong and dear friends, Linda Townsley and Ruth Tezak and many nieces and nephews. The last couple of years, brought two dear neighbors into Joyce's life, Doroty Lieb and Paul Trapuzzano.
A celebration of Joyce's life will be held in the spring.
