Joyce Glidden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home - Dover on Aug. 8, 2024.
Joyce Elaine Glidden
(Barrington NH): Joyce Elaine Glidden, 87, of Washington Street died on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Riverside Rest Home after a long period of failing health.
She was born on August 9, 1936, in Lebanon Maine; the daughter of Frank Merrill and Beryl (White) Merrill.
Joyce was a 1954 graduate of Farmington High School. She was a generous, caring and kindhearted person who always took care of everyone, before herself. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and would always make sure that everyone felt special and loved. She was truly an amazing person that left a huge impression on everyone's life.
She was also a huge New England Patriots & Boston Red Sox fan and would never miss watching a game. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her close friend Jim and working with him at his store. We are grateful for all the nice things that he did for her, throughout their long friendship.
Our hearts mourn the loss, but we take comfort knowing that she is no longer suffering and is with Kenneth and David, again. She will be dearly missed by all that know her.
She is survived by her son Danny Glidden and his wife Jean Glidden of Barrington NH, grandson David Glidden his wife Jessica Glidden and great granddaughters Makenzie and Alexis of Strafford NH, grandson Matthew Glidden and his wife Alysia Glidden great grandsons Boris, Levi and Grayson of East Wakefield NH and her brother Brenton Merrill and his wife Roxanne Merrill of Barrington NH
and brother-in-law Carleton Tirrell of Milton NH and many nieces, nephews; and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Kenneth W. Glidden and son David A. Glidden, brothers Winston Merrill and Alston Merrill, sisters Noma Wilkins, Audrey Hartford and Sylvia Tirrell.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Pope Memorial Humane Society in Joyce's name, located at 221 County Farm Road, Dover, NH. 03820.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
