A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 AM in Homestead Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Joyce spent her early years in Lyford, TX before moving to Greenville at age 11. She was a 1972 graduate of J. H. Rose High School. Shortly after graduating, she married the love of her life, John Lee Harrell, and started their family. Joyce was a devoted wife and mother and delighted in caring for her family. Joyce spent a number of years working for Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She always enjoyed being around the water and loved summer trips to the beach.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Harrell; parents, Harold and Florence Greene; and brothers, Arnold Greene and Darrel Bruce Greene.
She is survived by her children, Robin Elaine Wyrick and husband, Bert, of Ayden, John Steven Harrell, and Lori Jeane Harrell and fiancé, Thomas Harris, all of Greenville; brother, Stanley Miles Greene and wife, Joyce, of Brevard; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Staton House Volunteer Fire Department, 2501 N. Memorial Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
