She found her calling in the field of graphic arts and lithography, earning a Bachelor's degree from Iowa Western Community College in 1995. Her professional path was as varied as it was impressive, from the advertising and printing department at Hinky Dinky Grocery to customer service at Ford Motor Company. In 2001, Joyce's adventurous spirit led her to obtain a CDL, embracing the life of an over-the-road truck driver until 2003. Throughout her life, Joyce's Christian faith was her compass, guiding her through times of joy and adversity. She lived by the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." This philosophy was evident in every aspect of her life, from her interactions with family and friends to her lovingly crafted handiwork. Joyce's legacy is carried on by her devoted daughter, Neva Marie Mejia and husband David, her son Vincent William Hankins, and her sister Norma Jean Relaford. Her influence will forever be cherished by her grandchildren Cody, Riley, Zachery, Vincent Jr., and Emma Leigh Hankins, as well as her stepchildren Leo Allen Jr, Jodi, James, John T., and Stephanie.
