Joyce W. Harvey

Joyce W. Harvey, born April 6, 1932, in Wayne County, a longtime resident of South Point, Ohio passed away after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Bee Workman and Mellie Wellman. She is survived by her sister, Faith Pauline Stanton of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; sons Patrick (Rebecca) Harvey of Culloden, West Virginia; Timothy (Terra) Harvey, of Hartsville, South Carolina and daughter, Diana Sis (John) Howard of Hurricane, West Virginia, and daughter in law, LuAnn Hapney of Columbus, Ohio. She has 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren. Last of all, her cat, Tiger. A special thank you to a devoted friend, Nancy Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Harvey, sons, Terry Layne Harvey and Jimmie Lee Harvey, and her father and mother; brothers, Larry Workman and Jerry Workman, sister Betty Deloris Chapman and half-sister Judy Tetzlaff.
She worked at Sylvania, Royal Crown Bottling Company, Colonial Lanes, Hankins IGA, and Foodfair. She had a great love for her family and friends. There were many who benefitted from her loving personality and her big heart. She baked fudge and cookies, and crocheted afghans for her grandchildren and many of her friends. She always donated everything she did whether it was to family, friends, or to a church that was raising money for a special purpose.
Visitation is scheduled Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 6-8 PM at Wallace Family Funeral Home, South Point, Ohio. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM by her son, Timothy B. Harvey at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, W VA 25702 in memory of Joyce W. Harvey.
