Joyce M. Hofer

Joyce M. Hofer, age 58, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Edenbrook of Wisconsin Rapids.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial rites will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Joyce's name to ODC of Wisconsin Rapids, or Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice.

Joyce was born on March 20, 1967 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to the late Albert Hofer and Doris (Young). Joyce graduated from the Janesville Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired before moving back to Wisconsin Rapids. In 1997, Joyce began her career at ODC of Wisconsin Rapids, working there for nearly 30 years. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed reading and writing braille, singing, playing piano, watching the Packers and Brewers, bowling with the Special Olympics, and listening to Polkas. She loved spending time with her family, meeting all their significant others, and bouncing them all on her lap, which became her tradition within the family.

Through all the struggles in Joyce's life with blindness and Cerebral Palsy, she still managed to keep her feisty spirit and humor, and love with her whole heart. Her faith in God remained strong throughout her life, and she brought joy to all who knew her and worked with her. Although we are all mourning her loss, she is now able to run and see and leave her struggles behind her.

Joyce is survived by her siblings, Paul (Mary) Hofer, Kathy Molepske, Herb Hofer, Linda (Greg) Bardonner, Sally (Dan) Weimer, Kevin (Laurie) Hofer, Karen (Gary) Haughn, Glenn (Pam) Hofer, Frank (Tricia) Hofer, Steve (Dawn) Hofer, and Denise Hofer; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Hofer and Doris (Stepfather, John) Drmolka; twin brother, Jason Hofer; brother, Gordon Hofer; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

The Hofer family would like to thank the entire staff at Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice, Aspirus Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids Hospitals, Edenbrook of Wisconsin Rapids, and ODC of Wisconsin Rapids for their kindness and care of Joyce and the entire Hofer family through the years.
