Joyce Ann Jacobs Wright Hall, aged 85, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Born on May 1, 1939, in New Amsterdam, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of Oswald and Ethel Mae (Yeager) Jacobs. Joyce led a life filled with love and an unwavering care for her family and friends.
Growing up surrounded by the simplicity and beauty of farm life, Joyce developed a deep appreciation for nature, which blossomed into a passion for gardening, nurturing plants, and fishing. Graduating from Laconia High School in 1957, Joyce was known for her spirited role as a cheerleader, embodying the enthusiasm and vitality that characterized her approach to life.
Joyce is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Oswald Meredith Jacobs and Ethel Mae Jacobs. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her family. Joyce is survived by her three sons: Gregory Paul (Traci) Wright, Troy Matthew (Donna) Wright, and Toby Andreew (Lisa) Wright, and her sister Brenda (John) Beams. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who carry forward her spirit and warmth. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Joyce's family invites all who knew and loved her to pay their respects during visitation from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Visitation will continue on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Crossroads Cemetery in Mauckport, Indiana.
Memorial contributions in Joyce's honor can be made to St. Jude’s, WHAS Crusade for Children, or Southeast Christian Church.
Joyce Ann Jacobs Wright Hall will always be remembered for her kindness, nurturing spirit, and the countless moments shared with her family and friends. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
