Joyce E. Kent

On the morning of October 30, 2025, Joyce Kent (89) peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving and dedicated daughters. As the family anchor, she will be greatly missed.
Joyce lived a humble and quiet life. She cherished her roles as daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joyce found joy in life's simple pleasures including her weekly hair appointments, Sunday luncheon dates with friends, reading a book, watching ocean waves, playing scratch tickets, and catching up on her favorite shows. She was also an active participant in the Rowley Council of Aging events. News and photos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brought a warm smile to her face.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters and greatest gifts, Susan (Ron Merry), Barbara (John Axten), and Sheila Calderwood; brother, Richard Bassett; as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Harold Kent, and her parents, Harold and Grace Bassett.
