Joyce Marie (Lundberg) Langer, 84, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Valley Care and Rehab, Barnesville, MN.
Joyce was born on March 3, 1940, to Emil and Bernice (Hockey) Lundberg, in Platte, SD. She grew up in Platte where she attended and graduated from Platte High School. She then attended Business School in Rapid City where she met Bill Langer where he was enlisted in the army. They were later united in marriage on May 12, 1960, in Platte, SD. They moved to Fridley, MN, where Joyce worked for General Mills Cereal before moving to Moorhead, MN, in 1972, where she stayed at home taking care of her family. In 1975, they moved to Hawley, MN, where she continued to take care of her family until the early 90’s when she started baking for Tony’s SuperValu, eventually retiring in 2007. Bill and Joyce remained in Hawley ever since.
Joyce enjoyed crocheting, quilting, doing crafts, and painting in her later years. She also enjoyed helping Bill with his woodworking. Together, they loved to travel. Their top travel spots were Alaska, California, and a train trip through Colorado. Joyce was very proud of her family, especially of her children and grandchildren. She was a hard worker with a strong faith, a value that was very important to her in her life.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” Langer; children, Cynthia “Cindy” (Brian) Hobbs, Nancy Werner, Amy (Ross) Blakeway, and Corey Langer; grandchildren, Justin Hobbs, Nicia Werner, Kurt Werner, Samantha Blakeway, Carter Langer, Peyton Blakeway, Chelsey Blakeway, and Jack Langer; and many other loving relatives and friends.
