Joyce E. Laughlin

Joyce Elizabeth (Mimi) Laughlin, 93, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026 in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Joyce was born in East Liverpool, Ohio to Joan and Paul English on April 23rd, 1932.

She graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1949 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Education from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. Following her college graduation, she married Donald Laughlin in 1953 and together they raised three children.

Joyce taught in both Canada and Pennsylvania for five years before becoming owner and operator of Travel Haven Travel Agency in Media, which she ran for 25 years. She was deeply involved in her community, serving as President of the Media Rotary Club and as a Judge of Elections in Edgemont Township.

She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time at the Jersey Shore, following politics, reading and was an avid swimmer.

Joyce is survived by her daughter; Elizabeth Sullivan; her son, Sean Laughlin; her grandchildren Jake Laughlin (fiancé Nicole Bancroft), Maureen Hayes (Connor Hayes), Colin Sullivan (Christina Sullivan) and Roses Laughlin; and her great-grandchildren James Hayes and Liam Hayes. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald Laughlin, and son Kevin Laughlin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, Inc.,1 W. Baltimore Avenue, Media, PA 19063. A funeral Mass will be held at Nativity BVM, 30 E. Franklin Street, Media, PA 19063, on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Father Bell. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Media, PA 19063.
