Joyce I. Leintz, Combined Locks, age 90, died peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025. She was born in Kaukauna on December 14, 1934, to the late Willard and Helen (Vandenberg) Hartjes. Joyce married Alois J. Leintz at St. Paul Parish in Combined Locks on June 16, 1954. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1999.
Joyce enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cribbage along with tournaments. In her earlier years, she loved playing golf, horseshoes, and bowling. Mom and Dad enjoyed their time together and always looked forward to their Friday night fish fry's. Family trips were always an adventure, cramming seven kids into a station wagon for trips to cottages, Bay Beach, or the zoo.
Joyce is survived by her children: Deb (Gary) Bushman of Stevens Point; Dave (Nancy) Leintz of Greenville; Diane (Mike) Killian of Kaukauna; Donna (Luke) Schmalz, Land O Lakes; Dan (Kim) Leintz of Greenville; Darlene (Rick) Schumacher of Darboy; and Dorothy (Lee) DeValk of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Molly (Wayne) Sankey and Brad (Tricia) Heeg; Tracy Leintz, Michael (Katy) Leintz, and Timothy (Cortney) Leintz; Alan (Alissa) VanderVelden, Adam (Melissa) VanderVelden, and Aaron (Michelle) VanderVelden; Ryan (Jayme) Albrecht, Nick (Alex) Schmalz, and Ken (Jill) Schmalz; Eric (Jessica) Schumacher and Whitney (Nick) Schumacher; and Taylor DeValk; 37 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Janice Hartjes. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, and husband Alois, Joyce was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Ashley and Aubrey DeValk; one great grandchild, Julia Schmalz; father and mother-in-law, Matt and Margaret Leintz; brothers: Marv (Pat) Hartjes and Jerome Hartjes; and brother-in-law, Alvin (Mary) Leintz.
Joyce will be laid to rest next to her husband in a private family burial at St. Paul Cemetery.
The Leintz family would like to thank the staff at Frontida Assisted Living and Compassus Hospice for their special care and concern.
