Joyce Elaine Lund, 75, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born on December 14, 1947, in Belleville, KS, the daughter of Donald R. and Iva E. (Heath) Goodger. She graduated from Belleville High School.
Joyce worked in the cabinet shop at Kit/Road Ranger and retired from Viega.
She spent her retirement years tending to her flowers in her yard, listening to and calling Swap Shop religiously, and decorating her home with her many, many multi-holiday “pretties” (as she called them). Her other favorite pastime consisted of thrift store shopping and lunch dates with any number of her large group of friends or her daughter, Amanda.
Joyce had a “wicked” sense of humor and was constantly laughing. She had many stories that she loved to tell. She could tell a simple story of going to Walmart, and make it sound like a great adventure. She was definitely one of a kind. There will never be another Joyce. She enjoyed making all of her friends and family laugh, and she will be missed greatly.
Survivors include: three children, Darin Garman (Amy) of Odessa, TX, Amanda Huff (Dustin) of Moundridge, KS, and Cindy LeClair of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, Brookley Gjerst (Jake), Faith Huff, Jaxon Huff, Cody LeClair, Morgan LeClair, Cory LeClair; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
