Joyce Elaine Manassa, born on September 25, 1943 in Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 82 after a very short but courageous battle with Myasthenia Gravis. Elaine (her preferred name) was a most beloved mother, grandmother and aunt whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Elaine was known for her insatiable love of reading and her passion for history, which enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Her grandchildren Jacob Cole, Jared Cole, and Elena Mangus were a constant source of joy and pride in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Elaine's warm spirit and dedication to her family created lasting memories that will be treasured by her loved ones for a lifetime.

She is survived by her daughter, Misty Cole; and her son, Michael Boreman. Elaine's legacy of kindness, curiosity, and love will continue through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Following her wishes, her remains will be cremated and laid to rest in Jacksonville, Florida after a small family gathering.

Elaine was preceded in death by: Benton Nunn (Father), Edith Greene (Mother), Frances Walters (Sister), Barbara Gonsalves (Sister), and Clyde Greene (Brother).

Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Manassa family.
