Joyce B. Martin

Joyce B. Martin, a lifelong resident of Grosse Pointe Park, passed away on September 8, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 3, 1936, Joyce spent nearly her entire life on Wayburn, where her home was always open to friends and family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Martin, who passed in 2015. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Joyce was a devoted mother to Susan (Joseph) Hadad, John (Carol) Martin, David Martin, and James (Karen) Martin. She was also a proud grandmother to Theresa (Ron) Culbertson and Robert Burd, and a loving great-grandmother to Aidan, Brennan, Eliana, and Tiernan.

A graduate of St. Ambrose High School, Joyce devoted her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies, was skilled at knitting and crocheting, and loved tending her garden, which brought color and beauty to her home. Joyce was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones.

Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. A lifelong member of St. Ambrose Church, she attended Mass several times a week and received all of her sacraments there-from baptism to marriage. Joyce found great joy in her parish community and lived her faith in both word and action.

In later years, Joyce looked forward to Bingo Thursdays at the Helm and cherished the friendships she made there. Earlier in life, she loved playing bridge with friends while her children were young.

Joyce will lie instate on Friday, September 19th from 10 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11 am at St. Ambrose Church, 15020 Hampton Street, Grosse Pointe Park.
