Joyce Haight Mayer

Fairport: Passed away on December 22, 2025 at age 81. She was predeceased by her husband John Mayer Sr; daughter, Ellen (Jacek) Woloszuk; parents, Leonard and Edith Haight; siblings, Joan (Gordon) LaForce and Michael (Lori) Haight; and parents-in-law, Lewis and Esther Mayer. She is survived by her children, John (Debra) Mayer Jr, Richard Mayer, Paul (Kim) Mayer; grandchildren, Eve, John-Henry, Izabel, Stefan, NinaMaria, Apollo, and Samuel; siblings, David (Kathleen) Haight and Daniel (Shari) Haight; siblings-in-law, Lewis Mayer Jr and Barbara Fryover; and nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joyce was a devoted and graceful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and mentor, whose steadfast nature was a blessing to those around her. She was a life-long resident of the Rochester region and grew up on Mt. Vernon Avenue in the South Wedge. She attended St. Boniface elementary school and graduated from Mercy High School in 1961. She had a long successful career in procurement for Bausch & Lomb.

Joyce loved attending her kids and grandkids sporting events and rarely missed a beat at their games for over 50 years. She volunteered for the local elementary school where her children attended and coordinated a summer recreation program for special needs children in Gates. She was content with curling up with a book, enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, and traveling, and was most excited about spending time with family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to Joyce's memorial service and informal reception, which will be held on Saturday March 28, 2026 at 11 AM (service) and 12 PM (reception) at Saint Boniface Church (service) and Men's Club (reception), 330 Gregory Street, Rochester, NY 14620. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Joyce's name to a non-profit organization of your choice is appreciated.
