Joyce Ann Mitter, 68, passed away peacefully at home March 17, 2025 surrounded by herloving family. Born in Akron, Ohio to Clifford and Imogene (Hosaflook) Miller, she was a lifelong area resident. Joyce previously worked as a seamstress at Goodwill. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, going to church, visiting with her neighbors and spending time with her family.
Anyone who knew Joyce could attest to the love she had for the Lord. Even in her last days, she lifted her hands in praise. She never stopped praying for her loved ones and truly left behind a legacy of God-fearing servants of Jesus Christ.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Imogene; siblings, Ralph, Carol, Jenny and Donnie.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Lisa (Nathan) Chesley, Terry (Kristin) Miller, Stephen (Crystal) Miller, Rebekka (Billy) Walker, Kenneth (Star) Kesner, Paige (Kevin) McVeigh; grandchildren, Jordan, Armondo (Alyssa), Maria (Mo), Bryce, Braedon, Danica, Angel, Aiden, Gavin, Brycen, Devin, Kayla (Andrew), William, Blake, Sophia, Brooke (Jeremiah), Hannah, Aurora, Hailey and Brayden; great grandchildren, Ellie, Isabella, Isaiah, Leonardo, Legend, Nathaniel and Noah; siblings, Ray (Wendy), Sheila, and Kevin (Lynn).
Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, March, 24, 2025 from 3 to 4 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to help cover the costs associated with fulfilling her wish of her ashes being spread on the beach of Outer Banks, where she enjoyed spending time with her family. Contributions will ensure that Joyce’s ashes are spread in a way that honors her memory and the things she loved most. Donations can be sent via Venmo to her son @Ken-Kesner.
