Joyce Hurst Moore

Joyce Hurst Moore, 82, went to be with Jesus March 5. Joyce lived for her family and constantly sought to know her Lord and Savior better as an active member of Second Presbyterian Church. She was an educator for many years and loved teaching children, especially about the Bible. In her younger years, she loved square dancing, being outdoors, and writing poetry. She was ready to go home, but she will be missed. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Chalmers Moore, her parents, Quinn and Mary Ann Hurst, and her siblings, Herbert and Helen Hurst. She leaves her three children, Kenneth David Moore (Lynda) of Birmingham, Keith Rodman Moore (Amy), Elizabeth Moore Peckham (Steven), both of Memphis, eight grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
There will be a graveside service at Memorial Park at 10 am Saturday, followed by a visitation from 11-12 at Second Presbyterian Church.
