Joyce NEALS Obituary

NEALS, Joyce (Aborjaily) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce a cherished long-time resident of North Reading and devoted wife to Ted Neals, who left us peacefully on May 30, 2025. Born in Boston, Joyce was the loving daughter of the late Karam and Melia (Kiame) Aborjaily.

Joyce's life was rooted in love and family. Growing up in Dorchester, she attended Boston schools and graduated from the Boston City High School for Girls. She found her soulmate in Ted and together they built a beautiful life in North Reading, raising their family with warmth and care. Joyce and Ted operated New England Spring Water together, sharing both their professional and personal lives in partnership. Joyce had a passion for bowling and was a gifted seamstress, crafting stunning needlepoint creations and cozy sweaters for her beloved grandchildren. Her culinary skills shone through in her Mediterranean dishes, especially her cherished grape leaves. Holidays were a highlight for Joyce, filled with laughter, good food and treasured moments surrounded by family.

She is survived by her husband, Ted Neals of Salem, NH; devoted children, Jeffery Neals and his wife, Sandra, of Atkinson, NH; along with her grandchildren, Christine Neals and her fiancé, Ryan Keegan, of Tewksbury; and Ryan Neals and his wife, Alison, of North Reading. She is also survived by her son, Gary Neals, and his wife, Debra, of South Carolina and Middleton; along with their son, Brandon. Joyce's spirit will live on through her loving sister; Rosalie Buchonis and the memories of her late sisters, Freda MacFarlane and Evelyn Shedd. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly.

Family and friends are warmly invited to a time of remembrance at the Cota Funeral Home, located at 335 Park St., NORTH READING (corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading line), on Saturday, June 7, from 10 AM to 12 PM. Following the Visitation, we will honor Joyce's life with a Memorial Service at the funeral home at 12 PM. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, in North Reading.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Joyce's memory to the MSPCA at Donate Now, MSPCA-Angell.

I had the pleasure of being Joyce´s hairdresser since I was 20 years old (now 57) Joyce and Ted gave so much to the NR community back in the day through their successful business New England Spring Water that began as Boston Water Cooler. Joyce always made us laugh at her crazy jokes and phrases. She was tied into many groups of North Reading. She loved her children and grandchildren so much. She remained a friend and confidant to me until the end. Joyce will be sadly missed.
