Joyce Nicholas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Brunswick on Sep. 8, 2025.
Joyce M. Nicholas, age 81, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Margaret (Toth) Peto on April 15, 1944.

For over 30 years, Joyce and her husband Deno successfully ran a small business in manufacturing sales. She was a faithful and active member of St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, where she dedicated her time to numerous philanthropic causes.

Joyce had many passions-she loved cooking and sewing, enjoyed golfing and playing cards with friends, and most of all cherished her time with family. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and great grandmother whose love, guidance and kindness touched all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Deno J. Nicholas; children, John Nicholas (Paige) and Jason Nicholas (Ashley Batey); daughter-in-law, Holly Nicholas; grandchildren, Summer, Cole (Kaitlyn), Lacy, and Zoe Nicholas; and great-granddaughter, Lydia Joyce Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Daniel Nicholas; and her siblings Ernie and Liz.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. with the Trisagion service at 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 4548 Wallings Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 9:00–10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at West Richfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's memory to St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church at the address above.

Deno, I am so sorry for your loss. She was always so kind and warm towards me. We actually went to the same junior high. May her memory be eternal dear friend.
