Kathleen Stack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Brunswick on Feb. 17, 2026.
Kathleen Marie Stack "Kathy", age 76, of North Royalton passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 14, 2026, in Cleveland, OH. She was born March 5, 1949, in Cleveland to the late Eugene and Loretta (nee Malone) Balicki.

Kathy was a lifelong resident of North Royalton. A dedicated farmer, she had a deep connection to the land and a strong appreciation for nature. Kathy was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and took great joy in cheering for her team. She had a special love for dinosaurs, wildlife, and animals, passions that reflected her appreciation for the natural world.

Kathy and her husband John were founding members of St. Colette Church, where their deep faith and religious devotion played an important role in their lives. Her spirituality was a guiding force and a source of comfort and purpose.

In her earlier years, Kathy treasured the time spent on the waters of Lake Erie at the family cottage in Vermilion. Those days brought her great happiness and created memories that she carried with her throughout her life. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially during the summer months when she could often be found floating in the pool, enjoying the sunshine.

Above all else, Kathy loved her family and friends, who were always at the center of her life. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to those she cared about.

Kathy's life was one of dedication, love, and simple joys. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John J. Stack, Jr.; daughters, Jacqueline M. Chandler (Mark) and Shannon C. Carroll (Scott); granddaughter, Isabella L. Carroll; brother, Gene Balicki (Sue); sisters-in-law, JoAnn Smith (Les) and Judy Ramage (Wayland, dec.); brother-in-law, Joe Stack (Jan); nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, with 1-hour prior visitation, at St. Colette Catholic Church, 330 W. 130th St. Brunswick, OH 44212. She will be laid to rest at a later date at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests that donations be made to the Parish School of Catholic Formation at St. Colette. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to Kathy's family at www.waitefuneralhome.com.

Yesterday

I remember those high school days when you and Donna and Celeste and I sang folksongs for anyone who would listen, or for just us, anywhere and anytime. It seems like yesterday, and it always will, my friend.
